BEAUTIFICATION OF FLUSHING
ALONG COLLEGE POINT BLVD...
the Flushing Willets Point Corona Local Development Corporation (FWCLDC) and its subcontractors have been providing horticultural care for planters on twelve medians and a pedestrian island refuge (triangular center on King Rd. and College Point Boulevard) since Sept. 2015.
These medians located on several islands along College Point Boulevard not only provide aesthetic benefits, but are also traffic-calming devices that slow cars driving on either sides of these islands.
Our subcontractors clean and provide horticulture care, which includes watering, weeding, deadheading and other basic plant care, and collecting and disposing of litter. They are also responsible for responding to and addressing all incidents of vandalism or destruction; any and all plant material destroyed is replaced. Seasonally, our subcontractors change out the twelve planters from festive berries in December, to pansies and annuals for spring and summer.
